Based on the incredible, true story from Appalachia, Bright Star shows Alice at two different points in her life. The first is in 1923 when she discovers her first love. The second is 22 years later when she fights an irresistible pull told a young soldier returning from the war. Bright Star is a bluegrass musical reminding us all that the sun will always shine again.
The Beauty Queen of Leenane

The lives of six people intersect and, literally, overlap in this uniquely-staged production. The 1970 farce follows the consequences of an affair between a man and his boss’s wife. When they try to invent an alibi using a (clueless) third couple, the results bounce back and forth as skilled as the very best tennis matches. Hilarity ensues!
Timon of Athens

Timon is in the middle of throwing a lavish dinner party when he runs out of money. When he discovers that none of his friends will return his generosity, Timon rejects society to become a hermit in the woods. Written at the same time as King Lear, this lessor known work challenges us to see the beauty in giving of yourself without seeking anything in return.

When a creatively-blocked writer needs work, she signs up to write for an advice column despite her lack of interest in helping others. This play is one of those quiet reflections about reaching when you’re stuck, healing when you’re broken, and finding the courage to take on the questions which have no easy answers. We cap off our season with this student-directed meditation on pain, loss, hope and forgiveness.
