Immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture.
Overview
Immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture. McPherson’s Spanish major helps you master communication and problem-solving skills and allows you to think with a global mindset. Our classes focus on three areas: teaching, language immersion experiences abroad and growing language skills for a native speaker. Since Spanish is the most spoken non-English language in the U.S., you’ll stand out in a competitive job market.
Thanks to our small classroom sizes, our professors will help you learn new perspectives and give you personal attention. You’ll practice the language throughout internships, study abroad opportunities and classroom experiences while developing and nurturing intercultural awareness and sensitivity. When you graduate from the program, you’ll speak Spanish fluently and feel prepared to take on careers in business, education, communications and more.

- "As a language educator, I still battle every day to find the best way to enrich students’ minds, to satisfy their curiosity about cultural differences or simply to question their own mindset. I believe that knowing a different culture and language will help them to be successful in life, to better share their ideas with others, to engage in a discovering process, and to have the confidence to achieve anything they want.”
