McPherson College invites applications for the position of Student Account Specialist, which is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-exempt employee.

Reporting to the college Controller, the Student Account Specialist will be responsible for providing support for student accounts and general accounting functions for McPherson College through demonstrated organizational leadership, proactive fiscal controls and excellent customer focus.

McPherson College is a four-year private liberal arts institution in central Kansas. McPherson was founded by members of the Church of the Brethren with a commitment for leadership that embodies this founding relationship. With a mission to develop whole persons through scholarship, participation and service, McPherson educates over 800 full-time students each year with minimal continuing education and graduate programming.

McPherson is looking for an analytical, as well as, a critical thinker, who can work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, staff, external vendors and auditors. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively and efficiently on the Financial Services team. Additionally, the successful candidate must have the ability to work independently with an attention to detail.

Requirements: Three to four years financial experience in a business environment required, preferably in an academic setting. Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Business Administration or Business Management. The successful candidate must show an appreciation for small liberal arts uniqueness, have a commitment to interpersonal relationships and regular communication with any internal or external customer, and have a proven proficiency in electronic technology such as Jenzabar, SAP, PeopleSoft, Banner or other similar financial information system.
