McPherson College is seeking an energetic multi-tasker to join its Career and Experiential Learning team. The Career Program Assistant will dedicate focus toward student retention through various efforts that assist in student employment and career development, experiential learning opportunities, and support of the student debt project.
The Career Program Assistant is a full-time, benefit-eligible, non-exempt position. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Career and Experiential Learning.
The ideal candidate is capable of engaging diverse student populations in a fast-paced environment and working across the campus community to foster and support student success.
The Career Program Assistant responsibilities will include collaborating with campus partners, employers, and mentors to help support college and career success; assist in the growth and implementation of mentoring programming; deliver career readiness strategies ensuring students are career ready at graduation; coordinate student employment focused programming; assist in campus retention efforts; and support efforts in the student debt project.
The ideal candidate will possess at least one-year experience in office administration, employment practices, or program administration, and completed a bachelor’s degree. Experience working with a diverse student and/or volunteer population and data entry and assessment skills are essential. College-level writing, math, and analytical skills are expected. Additionally, excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential and a proficiency in using Microsoft Office products is expected. Advanced-level ability with Excel is desirable.
