Student Art Exhibition Reception
A reception and awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 8 at noon in Friendship Hall for the Annual McPherson College Student Art Exhibit.
Each year, McPherson College students are encouraged to enter up to six of their best artworks created during the past year into the competitive exhibition. This year, the juror selected awards in three categories including, studio arts (drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry); graphic design; and photography (analog and digital.)
This year’s juror is Jefferson Godard, curator at the Salina Art Center. Godard is a curator, educator, and trained architect who founded Aspect/Ratio, a Chicago gallery focusing on video art as well as curating independent projects at venues such as The Chicago Architectural Biennial, Gallery 400 at UIC Chicago, Nice and Fit Gallery in Berlin, and Shane Campbell Gallery in Chicago. Additionally, he served as part-time faculty member at Columbia College in Chicago as well as delivered talks at Northwestern University, the MCA Chicago, Art Cologne, and the College Arts Association Conference.
The student artwork is currently on display now through Friday in Friendship Hall. The reception and awards ceremony is open for all to attend.
