Lingenfelter Artist Series: Vanessa Thomas
Acclaimed vocalist Vanessa Thomas, known for her seamless span of five octaves, will perform at McPherson College as part of the Fern Lingenfelter Artists Series on November 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Mingenback Theatre. Admission is free.
Vanessa is an acclaimed vocalist who has delighted audiences everywhere. Known for her seamless span of five octaves, she has a unique versatility and command in classical, jazz, blues, gospel, and music theater. For over a decade, she toured with Grammy-award winning trumpet-virtuoso Doc Severinsen. Recent performances include Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass at Carnegie Hall as the soprano, alto, AND tenor soloist and both Kansas City Lyric Opera and the Lied Center of KS in a series of outdoor concerts over the Pandemic. Vanessa has sung at The Hollywood Bowl, Arizona Musicfest, Cincinnati Pops, Kansas City Symphony (Christmas Festival) and throughout the country. She is in the PBS American Masters documentary “Never Too Late” (Kevin Bright) and is currently working on an album, which is be produced in conjunction with the Lied Center of KS Concert Series.
