Dr. Ruth Mbah is an African from Cameroon. She obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy Analysis and Urban Affairs from Southern University and A & M College, Louisiana- USA (2020). She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration in International Business from Amity University, Uttar Pradesh- India (2016), and a Bachelor of Sciences in Accounting from the University of Buea, Cameroon (2012). She recently attained a Certificate in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School Online (2023).
Dr. Ruth Mbah has both national and international professional experiences which makes her very dynamic and inclusive given her diverse cultural experiences. She has worked as an accountant, budget controller, and accounting supervisor for over seven years abroad. In the USA, she has worked at the United Nations Headquarters where she played an integral part in developing an electronic platform for submitting a personnel-related request to the Headquarters Client Support Service. As a Ph.D. student, Ruth worked as a teaching and research graduate assistant for Southern University and A & M College, as well as a research fellow for the International Center for IT & Development, USA. She worked as an Assistant Professor of Business at Bethany College. Dr. Ruth accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Business at McPherson College. She strongly upholds a student-centered teaching philosophy.
Dr. Ruth is a passionate researcher. She has published as of date a total of 14 peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles and 1 book chapter in several national and international academic journals. Her research work has been accepted and presented at several academic conferences both nationally and internationally. Ruth was a recipient of the Indiana University CIBER (CIBER) Doctoral Student Research Award, in 2018.
Dr. Ruth Mbah is a seasoned servant who loves service to God and humanity. She is an Editorial Board Member of the Science Journal of Business and Management (SJBM) and a Reviewer for Cogent Economics and Finance Journal. She is also on the Editorial Board of Advances in Social Sciences and Management. She has equally served as the Financial Secretary for both the Southern University African Student Association and the Nelson Mandela Research Institution, SUBR. She is the President of Broken Ties Foundation, a foundation that seeks to bring hope to orphans and widows in Cameroon. Most recently, Ruth is grateful to have been elected to the Board of AAUW Kansas as Treasurer and hopes to leave an impactful legacy during her tenure.
