Cory is a 1999 graduate of Pittsburg State University with a Bachelors in Automotive Service Technology. Upon graduation he worked for 3 years as a service advisor at a Ford dealership. Cory was a high school educator for 21 years where he taught modern automotive classes, restoration and consumer auto care. During this time he completed his Masters from Pittsburg State University as well as attending numerous McPherson College Restoration Institute classes. At McPherson college he has been able to combine his passion for vehicle repair, antique vehicles and education
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Seeing students “get it” is what I enjoy most about education. When students are able to restore or repair a vehicle after learning in the classroom and lab, I feel a sense of pride. I feel the most enjoyment when a student is able to perform beyond what I have taught them. I believe the ultimate goal of any educator is to help develop a student into a lifelong learner.
