Ryo Nakazono has served as an athletic trainer with McPherson College since 2021. His primary responsibility is volleyball, women’s basketball, cross country, track & field, and tennis teams.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, he worked as an intern athletic trainer at Southern Methodist University (SMU) with the football and men’s tennis teams from 2020-2021. Ryo also worked with the Miami Dolphins as a summer intern athletic trainer in 2020.
Ryo graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Yokohama College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Japan in 2017. He also earned his master’s degree in athletic training from Weber State University in 2020.
He is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) and licensed in the state of Kansas.
Ryo is originally from Chiba, Japan.
