The Kansas Comprehensive Grant is available to needy Kansas residents enrolled full-time at McPherson College and have applied by the state deadline of April 1. The Kansas Comprehensive grant does not need to be repaid. Recipients in 2015-16 received $3,000 for the year.
Forms and Procedures to Apply
To apply for the Kansas Comprehensive Grant, students must:
- Apply to and be accepted to McPherson College
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and receive a result known as the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The FAFSA is available at fafsa.ed.gov . Students should make sure to include McPherson College’s FAFSA code 001933.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Kansas Comprehensive Grant at McPherson College, students must:
- Meet the general eligibility requirements as stated within the “Eligibility for Federal Student Financial Aid” section of the Consumer Information Page
- Submit all forms for application by April 1st of each year
- Be a Kansas resident
- Be enrolled full time
Criteria for recipient selection
To be considered for the Kansas Comprehensive Grant, students must demonstrate financial need, and the EFC must be $10,000 or less.
Criteria for award amount
McPherson College awards $3,000 per year to eligible students until the state allocation has been satisfied. Students with less need may receive a lower amount. The maximum amount that may be awarded per year is $3,500.
Criteria for continued eligibility
To continue receiving Kansas Comprehensive grants, students must:
- Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements as explained in the college catalog each semester
- Submit a new FAFSA each year
- Remain a Kansas resident
