McPherson College is keeping more of its students, and has announced an official total enrollment of 666 for the fall 2014 semester.
“We’re pleased that more and more students who come to McPherson College, stay at McPherson College,” said Michael Schneider, president of MC. “It shows that we’re on the right path and our students recognize that.”
The enrollment figures are official as of the 20th day of classes at McPherson College and includes all students enrolled in both undergraduate study and the 40 graduate students pursuing the new Master of Education degree. A freshman class of 175 students has also helped to bolster enrollment at MC.
In addition, the retention rate has increased by three percentage points compared to last year. It’s one of the most important indicators higher education institutions track, Schneider said.
“This is a sign that our students are having a great experience at McPherson College, and it’s what they were expecting,” Schneider said.
In addition, 1,075 students are enrolled in teacher continuing education courses through the Milwaukee Off-Campus Center, which is operated by McPherson College and offers classes to Wisconsin-area educators.
